Embossments

Add a Creative Statement to Your Invitations

Embossments add an understated, yet dramatic, touch to your invitations. An embossment is created from pressing, at high pressure, a metal die into the stationery (similar to the dies used for engraved lettering except without the ink).

Embossing vs. Printing

Embossments are just raised paper without any ink compared to the other printing processes that use ink to create the visual impact.

Custom Embossments

Our motifs or your images can serve as the basis for your embossing die.  Single level dies--paper is either raised or not, similar to the fleur de leis sample in our packet--begin at $30 and multi-level dies--there are different heights of raised paper like a coat of arms--start at $300 (with coats of arms and very intricate dies typically around $325 - $425).

If would like to incorporate an image but do not see it in our house dies, please contact us for an estimate on the cost to create an embossing die for you.

Embossing Costs

The actual embossing press run on the item adds $48 for the first 100 impressions and $8 for each additional 25. If you ordered 200 invitations, the cost for adding an embossment to all of them would be $80.
